Snickers Rice Krispy Treats

Snickers Rice Krispy Treats

So my husband's been eating healthy the past few weeks and I tell you, it's been a real strain on me. You can laugh but this is a serious issue. How's a girl supposed to indulge in a bowlful of ice cream when her husband's sitting next to her on the couch eating carrot sticks? Or how's she going to finish a package of leftover mini snickers she found from Christmas (this is purely a hypothetical situation) while the husband is snacking on his "handful" of craisins? I mean really?

Snickers Rice Krispy Treats

Ah, seriously it's lame. So I decided the only thing to do would be to hide the Snickers in some rice krispy treats because those are way less obvious right? I mean how could anyone know I snuck that entire bag into my one pan of rice krispies? Exactly.

So in my batch I chopped the snickers up pretty well, just so every bite would get some of that caramelly/chocolately/peanutty goodness. Other than that it's just your basic rice krispy. I'm telling you, these things ended up with that perfect chew to crisp ratio every treat should have. Mmmm... As it is, there are some benefits of having a healthy husband, I get to eat the whole pan by myself. (But don't worry, I can always blame it on the kids) Winning!

Ok so go try these! Better yet make them for valentines day! Nothing says I Love You like a Snickers bar 😍

Snickers Rice Krispy Treats

SNICKERS RICE KRISPY TREATS
Yield: 9-12 servings | Total Time: 30 minutes
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 6 cups marshmallows
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 cup krispies
  • 10 fun sized Snickers bars, chopped up
1.) Pour the rice krispies and Snickers into a large mixing bowl  and set aside. Melt the butter ain a saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, turn the heat down to the low and add the marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are mostly all melted (this will take a few minutes--low and slow is key for perfect texture) then stir in the vanilla.

2.) Once fully melted, take them off heat and pour over the rice krispy mixture. Stir lightly to combine. Dump everything into a greased 9x9 pan. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, then with greased hands flatten the top.
Allow them to cool 20 min and enjoy!

  2. Yes im happy you're back also. I enjoyed your site and totally understand how you must have needed a break. I have a 15 month old and it's hard enough with just her to find time to blog. Glad your life is freeing up now and you have two more angels to share it with.
