Now, I got this baby my freshman year of college. So we've had some good times together. But even I have to admit it's definitely not aged as well as I have, cough cough.
(And because I have no shame I'm even including pictures for you)
(1) First it began when I dropped it and cracked the edge off. (2) Then my battery finally quit on me and it needed to be plugged in 24/7 to stay on.
(3) Then my child decided I no longer needed the "W" or the "Delete" buttons.
(4) She also decided to add some artwork
(5) Let's just fast forward to the present. The battery plug refuses to stay in on it's own so it's taped to the laptop (classy). The screen will not stay up on it's own so it must be propped up by pillows, books, a cup, etc to stay upright (very functional). I think the final straw was this week when my daughter ripped off the top metal sheet where the power button is. Even I can only take so much.
So needless to say we are in the market for a new computer device. And soon becuase it is extremely hard to be a blogger with this as my tool. We've looked into tablets, mini laptops, regular laptops, etc... but can't decide. I'd really like a tablet--something portable. But I need something that I can run photoshop on so I can
Ah.... ok, moving on to the treat of the day. Anyone over St. Patrick's Day recipes yet?
I can't help it. Did I tell you I'm Irish? Yep, I'm pretty sure my great-great-great someone was from Ireland. So that makes me somewhere around like 0.1% Irish according to my calculations. Definitely enough to wear a "Kiss Me I'm Irish" shirt.
Because Lucky Charms totally originated in Ireland, I decided they would be perfect to make before the big day. These little goodies are perfect for your St. Patrick's day celebrations. The sugary cereal, mixed with the marshmallow charms really makes these treats special. I made the ratio of rice krispies to Lucky Charms 50/50 because if you use only Lucky Charms they get really hard. Not good. So you'll still need your traditional rice krispies to make these ones. Anyhoo, go get your Irish green on and get cooking in the kitchen with these Lucky Charms treats! And give me some thoughts on my computer situation because I need to make a decision asap!!!
Lucky Charms Rice Krispy Treats
Notes: Make sure when you're making these to pick out all the marshmallow charms from the box to use in your treats.... jk. That's like the person who digs all the cookie dough out of the ice cream carton. You know who you are
4 Tbsp butter
6 cups marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla extract

4 Tbsp butter
6 cups marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups rice krispies
3 cups Lucky Charms
Mix the rice krispies and Lucky Charms in a large mixing bowl and set aside. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Once melted add in the marshmallows. Stir until they are mostly all melted (this will take a few minutes--low and slow is key for perfect texture) then stir in the vanilla.
Once fully melted, take them off heat and pour over the rice krispies. Stir lightly to combine, then dump into a greased 9x9 pan. Allow to cool 5 minutes, then press into pan with greased hands. Let finish cooling another 30 minutes or so then enjoy!

Love Lucky Charms! I can't believe I didn't think to use them for St. Patrick's Day. That poor laptop. I bought a new Dell almost exactly 1 year ago. It's an XPS and I think it's 14 inches. It's very small and portable but still has a nice scree size and can run all kinds of programs. I'm a big Dell fan. I also wanted to let you know I posted my Liebster Award post. Thanks again for the award!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I like Dell too, thanks for the info! And I love your Liebster post, so fun to read your answers :)
